So today I headed to London and visited the Tate Gallery! My expectations before I went around the gallery itself were quite high and the gallery was a massive place with a range of floors, and I can agree that all of the art was impressive however there was a limited amount of artists work on display in rooms. I don't know if I was the only person thinking it but on the walls, there were only a few if not one or more pieces of artwork from one artist nonetheless there were some darker rooms where videos were being played on the walls showing the artist themselves completing their work. They showed the difficulties and what things went wrong and right which I found interesting. Not all artists start out easily - I loved how the gallery showed all these too! Next to every piece of artwork was the artists name, where they came from and a bit more depth of information about them. Not only did I learn about their original artwork, I could read more about them too without having to research them. The shop also links into this. They sell good quality books on a whole range! Textiles, fashion, photography, architecture and much more. They even sold prints and books about the artists in the gallery's if anyone wanted to find out even more about their art. I think that the Tate Gallery is an excellent gallery and is defiantly worth a visit when you next go to London!
