Today I headed to the National Trust Arts and Crafts family home: Standen House and Garden. It's located in a hillside garden in the south of East Grinstead, West Sussex, England and has Morris & Co, interiors. My main task was to look at the house itself and all the different rooms with interior by Morris. I even discovered a few different artists in the house such as Simeon Smythe (decorative metalwork), Fleur Greiner (pewtersmith/glass artist) and Wendy Dolan (textile artist). I loved how so many decorations and Christmas trees were in each room and outside the house; it must have taken a long time and patience to maintain the house and all of its furniture let alone carefully putting up decorations. The only thing I would like to improve would be to show more of Morris' work and the other artists too and even have separate rooms to observe more of their work than cram it all in one room. Apart from that I loved the house and the staff and volunteers were very friendly and welcoming! I'll defiantly come back next year and see the garden and the house again!
